Help with 99 4Runner Fuel Tank Drop-Electrical Connections

I am in the process of dropping the fuel tank on my 99 4runner to replace the fuel pump. However, I am having difficulty with the electrical connection that goes to the fuel pump.

The length of the wires are not allowing me to fully drop the tank to disconnect the wires. I have to reach my arm in between the tank and the side of the car to blindly feel the connector.

Any advice on how to disconnect this connector?

Thanks.

I also meant to mention that I have searched Chiltons and Toyota's technical documention but nothing really describes the granular details involved.

Thanks.
