1987 Non cali 22r into a 1985 cali truck
Hey guys new to Yoditech and im glad im here. you guys really know what your talking about!
OK heres the scoop. I have a 85 toy pickup 4wd with 22r and 5 speed and its a Cali emissions truck. unfortunately the engine had serious internal issues not long after i got it.
i found a complete and pulled running engine from an 87 4wd 5 speed on ebay and i bought it and wrestled it into the truck. boy that was a challenge ive never pulled an engine before, but i got it in and bolted down good.
the problem starts here, my new engines carb and intake and exhaust manifold are different...and i didnt change anything out i just tossed it all in the truck as it was when i got it. i dont have an o2 sensor hole in my manifold and a few of the vacuum lines are different on the new one from the old one.
do i need to swap out the emission specific things from my old engine to my new one or if i dont what pieces of the vaccum system for the emissions can i eliminate or plug off?
if you guys need more information lemme know and give me a half of day or so to reply...sometimes i can reply quicker. thanks for your help i really appreciate it.
oh and i downloaded the vacuum line diagram for a 85 cali truck and a 87 non cali emissions truck and they are similar but different in that there are different connection locations and a couple things that are not on one that are on the other. its still not helping me and im beginning to wonder if im ever gonna be able to enjoy wheeling in my super fun toy
Please HELP!!! thanks
ps, sorry im such a noob lol

yea i forgot to mention that i do not have emissions where im at so if i can get around the emissions part thats great if not then thats great too just as long as i either get it all disconnected the right way or connected all the right way...im in kentucky now no emissions here, and my trucks been repainted along its life so the emissions sticker is not there anymore
