Anyone got an Infinity Basslink installed?

I do... and now I want to mount it horizontally (flatter-like a box) instead of vertically (standing up tall).

Here is a good link to help visualize...yah I know the guy has a Jeep but hey he's got good taste in powered sub-woofers at least:

http://4x4icon.com/offroad/subwoofer/index.htm

See the first picture on the page-how the Basslink is standing up? It will also mount the other way-page way way down to PERFORMANCE DETAILS section at bottom of the page....

but I lack those 4 horizontal brackets and the other 2 long threaded screws to make that happen...( I bought it used so did not know what I was missing until now-doh!) Trying to free up more room in the back end for my mutt and all my gear...

Anyone got those horizontal brackets just laying around? and the other 2 long threaded screws? to sell me or trade for some 3rd gen stuff?

Inifinity is owned by Harmon Kardon-they want $12 for each bracket (get outta here...) and don't appear to offer the threaded screws...

Hook me up! I got window switches and radio bezel and corner lenses already drilled out for turn signals and a Cobra brand magnetic CB antenna and jeez what don't I have would be a smaller list probably...

maybe you need something from a junkyard you need me to get for you? I got a real nice one just a few blocks from the house...I got a YOTA YARD not far away and Jim's even closer...

I may be able to just buy a whole new Basslink on ebay for less than Infinity/Harmon Kardon wants for the &^%$ brackets.

If I see you guys on there bidding against me I am gonna kick some butt...I see 147 of you lurking along out there....

I got my Basslink off eBay for $90. Unfortunately, it only came with the vertical brackets, otherwise I'd be glad to sell you the horizontal ones.

To free up space in the back of my 4Runner, I mounted mine up on the driver side rear wheel hump with a couple brackets I made from 1"x1/8" flat steel, and some threaded rod.

Not sure I'd call it trick.

Here's where it sits:

To connect the brackets, all I used was some threaded rod. On the backside, there is a nut with a washer, similar to the front. While I don't have a rear bracket holding the sub down, you could always make a small bracket for the one side nearest the top of the tire hump.

To attach it to the floor, I used riv nuts on the floor and bolted the bottom of the brack to them.

thanks RobD for the pics- it took me some time to think this all out.

For one thing you did free up the room- I admire the ingenuity of what you were able to accomplish but ...

Tucked in that tight to the body interior panel you are defeating the passive radiator function of the woofer if you see what I mean? It needs to be able to breathe from the passive side to get the best sound out of the active side would you agree?

I am curious how you like the sound as mounted and if you tested it all out before deciding to go that route? I am still hoping to score another one for $50ish and shipping but the last 4 auctions I have seen they bid them up to $110-125- which seems foolish to me when you can buy one brand new for $195 shipped.

Appreciate a 2nd gen guy showing me the setup.

I have had it mounted flush against the floor, with the passive radiator firing right into the carpet. I've had it mounted vertically so that both sides were free and clear. Now I have it mounted on the hump, there is no real noticeable difference in bass output.

It still thumps pretty well for a single 10" being driven by a smallish amp. Give it a try. I think I have about $10 into all the materials you see there.

very good thanks Rob. I am still hoping to mount it box like or square to the floor but if that does not work out I may just copy your setup.
