Rear taillight/front marker light issues.

This is mainly a question for those of you on the board that are installer savvy, esp. in the realm of stereos and/or alarms.

I'm running an older Viper/Sidewinder 6500 remote start alarm in my 96' 4Runner. After removing my CD player and EQ, I have discovered that my taillights, interior lights, and front marker lights do not function. The switch on the stalk is functioning, as is the relay in the engine bay. When remote starting the car, the lights function (i.e. flash on and off ) but as soon as you depress the brake or turn the key, the lights cease to function. This symptom also applies to the interior lights, i.e. dash lights and controls. So I'm forced to think that it's related to the alarm and/or relays on the alarm that control the light flashing. Unfortunately, the relay pack on the alarm seems to be fine as well... I'm stumped. Any suggestions?

Pull the fuses in the engine bay. Sounds like you have a blown fuse.

Good suggestion... unfortunately since the relay's are functioning and the lights work relevant to the remote start, it's not the fuses...besides.... I checked already.
