I just bought a used Trail Master TP50 4 inch suspension lift for my 1991 Toyota pickup. It has all the parts except for 3 pieces. The 3 pieces I need are the driver's side differential drop bracket, passenger side differential drop bracket, and the center differential bracket. Is there a way to make these 3 items and if not, where can I order these 3 pieces from? Thank you

 

Have you tried calling TrailBlocker? I mean, "Master"...?

Or search in the 4 sale section?

 

No I haven't called them yet but have searched their website up and down and haven't found anything like what I need. Gonna call them in the morning but wasn't for sure if they sold those pieces seperately or not.

 

You MIGHT be able to make them... but they are rather intricately bent... probably not the easiest option...

 

Roger has diff drop thingies... But nothing close to working with a 4" drop.

Everything in those kits are stamped steel, you should be able to make them. The diff drops BTW, I'm thinking of other, smaller things... I'd say some tube and weld plate to the ends, but weld a nut on the inside 1st.

As for the center thing... I aint saying nothing... It has to handle all the torque, enough to shred a front ring and pinion, remember? So... I'm not going to tell you something and have to deal with the bashing when it doesn't work... Or you hurt yourself...

 

Thx for the reply guys. i wonder with a 4 inch lift, how much I would have to drop the front diff? Once I get everything on, I thought about making cardboard cut outs of the 3 pieces I need and take it to my brothers machine shop and see if he can fabricate those pieces. I just have to figure how far to drop the diff so i can make the cardboard cut outs.

 

I'd start with 4 inches... but thats just a guess

It was on craigslist but was in the London, Ky area. Been on there a while and had caught my attention but was always eerie about buying stuff like that because peeps can say it's for 1 thing and be completely different but after some research i found out it was for my truck. Other than those 3 pieces, it has all nuts and bolts and everything and also dual steering stabilizers. For the price I couldn't pass it up and they are pretty expensive new so I can spend the money I saved on some tires and rims.

 

Did you ever figure out the diff brackets? I just got a used trailmaster kit without those drop brackets

 

I have my lift installed but have not bolted the front diff to the front crossmember because it is not low enough... I installed a diff drop spacer so far. I'm thinking it is safe as long as I don't engage 4x4 till I build a bracket to drop it down the rest of the way?

 

If you have locking hubs, keep them unlocked if you want your CV boots to last. Unlocked, the CVs wont spin at the crazy angle they're at now.

 

Yeah luckily I have manual hubs. 4x4 doesn't work due to the plug behind my shifter has on wire broken off, so no 4wheel right now anyway. I need to figure out something for a diff drop soon.
