Headlight adjustment on a 2000 4runner

Hello,
2000 4runner 2wd and about to install Sonoran Steel lift which should be approx. 3". Will need to adjust the headlights afterwards.

1. There is a white nut/washer combo on the back of the headlight assembly at the bottom. I assume this is for adjusting vertical correct?

2. Turning the screw clockwise (as if tightening) raises or lowers the beam?

3. For anyone who has done a similar lift was much adjustment necessary?

4. Read numerous posts about going back 25 ft. and aiming approx. 2" below headlight centerline on low beams. The Toyota manual shows adjustment by going back approx. 10 ft. and aiming approx. 0.83" below headlight centerline. Has anyone used this method?

thanks for any help. Jon

seems like the two methods in #4 work out to the same adjustment when you figure in the distance. the first one is the same one I have used on my lifted trucked for 20+ years.

Just adjust the headlight, you will see which way the head light is going as you go left or right on the adjuster.

Since your truck hasn't had the lift installed yet mark the center point of the low beam on your garage door using the same distance ( u pick 10 or 25) you will use to adjust your beams.
Install lift and adjust the light to the same point as before the lift.

To be honest I did not notice that much difference in the headlight adjustment when I did the lift on my '81, I did adjust it down just a hair. Nobody has been flashing their lights at me

Thank you for the advice. Did the lift last weekend and used your suggestion. Didn't notice much of a difference in height either.

thanks, Jon
