Yota audio newbie needs advice.
Alright... I have stock speakers and I want to upgrade to new speakers and a sub and put in a small amp. I just bought a kenwood kdc-mp242 head unit. Now, before I start getting harassed about my purchase, I wanted to get the best for the least, so I got it for only $76. I am happy about that. ha ha ha. However, I want some better speakers. I thought about calling a local car audio shop, but I don't want to get bombarded with a bunch of BS and some jerk trying to make commission off me. I know times are tough, so that is why I am being a tad stingy.
Now, on to what I have been looking at. I play the blues, so I want something that hits with precision (Stevie Ray Vaughan, Robert Cray, Muddy, John Lee, BB King, etc.). I am very picky about being able to hear, actually hear the instruments. It is different than listening to music. Unless you play an instrument, you haven't actually "heard" the music. (some of you know what I'm talking about
) I also love to hear my rock tunes! AC/DC, Van Halen, G&R, Deep Purple, Allman Bros., I could go on and on but these are a few of my favorites. SO I want to be able to encapsulate all of these wants into a modestly priced system (speakers and sub, under $500). I have seen that a sealed sub cabinet would be the best option for precise bass and that Boston Acoustics are the best speakers. But, I am lost and need some guidance/opinions from experience on what would be the way to go.
Thanks!
