About a month ish ago I started to get a nasty noise from my transmission. This is not the normal worn bearing noise but something is deffinately rubbing & vibrating.

The only time I get it is when I put the truck in reverse and start to engage the clutch OR when i downshift from 2nd to 1st and let off the clutch. If im in reverse and let off the clutch completely the noise goes away. All other gears are fine. I thought ujoint but its pretty tight and well lubed.

About 2.5 weeks ago we rebuilt the motor(5mge now not 22re) and there was nothing wrong with the clutch or pressure plate when we put everything back together.

 

wow, you don't have to come to a complete stop to shift into first? You're lucky.

 

Haha no i dont have to come to a complete stop, never had to. She shifts smooth into all gears in both directions. Just this noise. LOL
