Can you disable the transponder system in a 1999 4runner ?

Make a remote for two 4runners?
My wife and I both have 1999 4runners. I'd love to have one remote key fob that would work on either car (i.e., have two 'unlock' buttons, one for either car, etc.) Has anyone ever tried that with an aftermarket remote key fob?
EDIT:
Was going to ask another question, but tried to edit my original post's title instead. Didn't work quite right - sorry.

Im curious. I can't remember what the bottom button does. Maybe you can try programming the bottom one for the 2nd car?

On my stock keyless entry remote, I've got three buttons on the upper side: Lock, Unlock, Rear Window Down; and one on the underside (Panic).
Wish they'd have included a Rear Window Up option

I just bought a 99 Limited that came without a keyfob. I just programmed one (that was an adventure!) and I have a question about the window button and the panic button. Do I understand correctly that the rear window button really only rolls the window down? Mine only rolls it down but I wasn't sure if I messed up the programming and it should also roll up.
Panic button question is how do you turn off whatever happens if you hit the panic button? I've tested all the buttons but that one for concern if it worked I couldn't turn it off. :-) Thank you for the help. Awesome rigs aren't they!! Oh, one more question, I understand a total of 7 keys can be programmed before the onboard computer is 'full' and needs to be re-flashed. How many remotes can be programmed for one 4Runner?

I'm pretty shure you can program those remotes to multiple cars. Here is the programming procedures.
Start by getting in and leaving the drivers door open(all other doors closed).
Insert and remove key from ignition 2 times.
Close and open door 2 times.
Insert key and remove once.
Close and open door 2 more times.
Close door for a third time(leave closed)
Insert key and turn to the On position and then back off and remove.
At this point the door locks should cycle indicating succesfull entry into programming mode.
After door locks cycle press and hold the lock and unlock buttons on remote to be programmed for about 2 seconds.
Now just press the unlock button and hold for about 2 seconds.
The door locks will cycle to indicate succesfull programming.
I know there are plenty of other remotes that can be programmed to multiple cars so give it a try.

Crtolson- I guess those instructions worked out
yeah that's normal, the rear window has to go up with the switch on the dash. And if you hit the panic it should go off by pressing the panic button again or the unlock. Can't remember.
Pendrag- if you wanted you could also rekey your ignition so that you could use the same key for both runners. It really wouldn't be that hard. If your interested just pm me and I can help ya out.
