Replacing some vacuum hoses - should I go silicon?

Looks like I'm going to need to replace a vacuum hose in my wife's 4runner. I'm sort of new to working on our trucks, but I'm trying to learn something with every new project. I haven't bought vacuum hose before - I understand you need the interior diameter and a length, but how about material? Is silicone the better choice?

Is there any place where I can get a list of all the hose sizes in 1999 4runners?

typo in title: meant to write 'silicone'.

Hmmm I haven't heard of vacuum line made from silicone. Maybe it would be good? I just replaced some on mine and I just got some regular black rubber (i guess thats what its made of) and it was about $1 a foot. The stuff on mine is over ten years old and its all good still mostly. I would guess it would be easiest to just go with the same stuff.

Id just get regular ol vac hose. Its the cheapest way. Its just a vac hose, they last for pretty long anyways.

Save your money for something more important

As for sizes, just take off the one you need to replace, walk in to an auto part store, get that 1 hose, put it on. repeat. Make sure you mark/tape where the hoses came from if you take off more then 1 at a time.

Do they measure the hose in the autoparts store, then? Do you have to cut the tube to get at the unstretched part in the middle? Sorry I'm being such a noob.
