I just put on the 22" and it sounds great!!. Slightly louder than stock at idle, and a nice deep sound when you get on it. It does not drone on the hwy, which I hear that the 14 and 18" do. I will get a vid up this week.

Generically speaking more muffler area you have, more it will consume the noise. Practically it also depends on the design opf a particular muffler.

First off, what motor you putting this on? The 18" will still be sorta loud on the inside and I'd imagine it's pretty loud on the highway. I've had the 24" for about 4 or 5 months now and at idle you can barely hear it. It's the perfect amount of purr I like on a V6. It's def noticeable while driving and it sounds great inside and out. My tires usually cover up the sound of it and I always have my music playing to loud anyways

In my opinion, the 18" is perfect. 24" sounds just like stock, and 14" is too loud.

2.5" as the stock piping on the 3.4 L is 2 3/8".

Here's a revive!

I'm going to replace the rusted muffler on my 96 4Runner Ltd. with the 3.4 and like the sound of the Magnaflow a customer has. I'm wanting a tad more tone than stock, nothing loud at all. I'm thinking the 22" is the way to go for me but I can't remember if it should be the center/center inlet/outlet or an offset. Can anybody help me out? Otherwise I have to wait until I get home to look under it tonight.

OK, I did a little more research and looks like an aftermarket unit will need to be a center outlet and offset inlet.
