today my truck started doing something weird. its a 1984 exra cab 22r. the idle, all of a sudden is really high, at 2k and the charge light and brake light is now on. also, when i turn my truck off it klunks a little bit like it doesnt want to shut off. what could be going wrong?

 

the klunking after shut off is called dieseling and is usually caused by high idle and running rich. I'd clean the carb and make sure the accelerator cable is not sticking. As far as the lights being on.. i'm not sure about the lights.

 

charge light and brake light on at the same time is usually a sign of a charging system problem.Check to make sure the charging system is working properly.First thing to check.
