torsion bar question?

torsion bar question?
I have a 1990 toyota 4runner. It is the family off-road vehical. It gets trailerd in and out. I need a little more clearence in the front. I am not concerend with a smooth ride. So can i adjust the font torsion bars in the front to give me some extra clearence? I am new to toyotas so any help on this would appreciate it.
