Ring & Pinion gear ratio?

Quick question about gear ratios or those with experience with gearing down the Toyotas. My only exp. with this was on a 68 GMC that I swapped out the front end on and I had to match the gears. That was years ago and a different truck.

So my question is I see basically two gear options for my rig: 4.88's and 5.29's. The 4.88's are recommended for 33's and the 5.29's for taller tires but how much lower of gearing can I expect? I don't mind the lower gearing, I just don't want something that is going to top out at 55 or 60mph due to the gear ratio.

Any suggestions?

You are a person of few words.

A. How to determine?

B. How to change?

C. Which ones do I need?

D. None of above?

E. All have been answered already if you search

please search for a gear calculator...

http://www.4lo.com/

http://www.rocky-road.com/calculator.html

http://izook.com/gearcalc.htm

http://www.f-body.org/gears/

You also need to know weather you have a AT or not... B/c you use the next lowest gear for the tire diameter you want if you have one.
