3vze timing belt super loose.

Just finished valve grind and adjustment, while I was in there I changed the timing belt and a few other things. Had it back together for a week when the engine light came on - code 52 - knock sensor, heard about this but ignored, so I dived back in when I got the new parts and did that up, but when I got to the t belt it was super loose, way too loose I think, hopefully no damage was done hate to ef it up after spending time and money on getting it running nice again but seems like the cams are pointing in the right place but I didn't but it in tdc cause I wasn't expecting to do anything else on the tb. This is a 95 so it has a hydraulic tensioner thing, it seemed to have a lot of force when i put it on, had to use a vice to close it and it was really hard. But now the tb is all loose and can't be doing its job properly. I'm gonna replace the tensioner even though I'm not sure if thats it. Anyone have any ideas about what else could be causing the problem?
