Harbor Freight Floor Jack 34271 3 ton
3 ton Super HD 20" of lift
34271 99.99
Anyone had any luck with these? My old floor Jack died and looking to get some replacements for the shop.
I can pick them up locally is the reason for consideration.

I bought one about 2 years ago. I use it at least 3 or 4 times a month for various projects mine or friends. I have not had issue 1 with it. I keep it lubed and out of the rain.
If this one failed I would buy another Harbor Freight 3 ton just like it.

My current one is like 8 years old and has been used to death.
Hard to screw up a floor jack I figured.
Going to doing a flat bed soon...looking a lot like yours too probably. You ever do any plans for it?

Hey Brian,
Harbor Freight has 20% off coupons in Automobile and Road and Track, plus we've been getting flyers in the local paper for the same. The mag ads are usually in the back, full page.
So far so good on the 6 year old truck floor jack (us general), we had a smaller car jack (mvp superlift) that started leaking after 5 years.

I picked this one up about 3 weeks ago. Paid $59.00 for it on sale and a coupon. Also got the pad for it. That way it might not scratch the front axle so much. Pad was $5.00. Only used it once, but the pad seemed to hold up good. I got it to replace my 12 year old 2.5 ton MVP. It was leaking, and not holding up anything. I got the hair to clean the ram, refill the MVP with good hydro fluid, and bleed it. And now the MVP is working fine, and not leaking. So now I guess I have two jacks, never hurts.

I bought the black/yellow version on sale several months ago. Item #94629, I think.
I haven't used it much. Works ok. I had read about HF jacks lowering too quickly, and this one sure does. Even loosening carefully, it's difficult to only let the jack down a little bit. You turn slowly, nothing happens, then whoosh, it comes down in a hurry.
Overall, good bang for the buck for occasional mechanics. It would be excellent except for the lowering issue, which can be very annoying.
As mentioned earlier, make use of the 20% off coupons. They don't apply to items purchased with a separate coupon, but they do to everything else, including sale prices. One place to find coupons and keep up with sales is this thread at slickdeals: http://slickdeals.net/forums/showthr...id=0&t=1276399
