lost on 3vze stall

I've been reading all over and asking friends, i did not want to post but, i'm so fed up with all of the issues!
here's the details...
I had an exhaust leak, found my egr valve pipe was broken in half, the valve itself wasn't working, now when i fire it up it sounds normal for about a second then starts to die, put a little pressure on the gas pedal and it stays on, very erratically, until i release, then, it stalls. this did not happen before the new egr stuff.
i've been told vaccum lines but they are all on where they should be except one of the ps lines, also told iac...
this is all much more then i've ever delt with (it's got many more issues) and i'm a newbie, an easily discouraged one haha
i love my 4runner, please help!

Thanks!

So one of the vacuum lines for the power steering is unhooked?

yes. i replaced the ps pump in dec. because of a major leak that was due to that same line, it wasn't connected to the ps pump, just to the motor. the line had been disconnected since last june or further and the truck ran all the way up until the erg valve thing.

Unplug THIS vacuum hose & see if it runs properly:

If it does, that part is bad & needs to be replaced.

After I did my head gaskets I had a similar problem to TNRabbit. Those 3 vacuum lines next to the EGR were switched around and the EGR was being fed constant vacuum instead of controlled vacuum. One has constant vacuum, one has ported vacuum (vacuum only with throttle open a ways) and the other didn't have vacuum that I could find without messing with the EGR control solenoid IIR.

so it was none of my lines, not my egr, i kept it running for a bit with a little pressure on the accelerator and after a few minutes oil was burning from both sides of the engine compartment.
i just towed it into a shop. apparently the person i bought it from spliced and crossed some of the spark plug wires, and it has what the mechanic called "three dead holes" which means no compression is being held, explaining the stalling
i'm just getting a new motor i suppose
