Fuel problem no start help please

Ok this is what happend. I was driving down a bumpy road and the truck just shut off. we got out looked around and we figured out it wasnt getting fuel so we kicked the tank about 6 times and the truck briefly started back up again so we figured it was a fuel pump we took the bed off and on the top of the tank the power and ground were barly attached and rusted so i pulled the pump housing out and it was really clean and nice looking(about the only thing on the truck that does) so we hard wired the pump to the battery and it works perfect every time so we cleaned it up re mounted the power and ground onto the the pump and put it back in and hooked it back up and i get nothing. i ran a hard power from the battery and the pump worked and pumped fuel after so i figured it was a relay so i went abd bought a new one and i still got nothing and even with the pump hard wired the truck wont start and im not getting any gas back on my return but it has plenty of pressure at the fuel lines. anyone have any ideas?

another thing would be make sure all your fuses are in good shape mainly the ones for your ignition. i had a simular problem one time when i got some water in the computer i just pulled it apart snd dried it out and plugged it back in and its worked fine since
