Question I need help! im redoing front suspension parts

I need help, i have to replace both front lower control arms, all tie rod ends, idler arm, pitman arm and all balls joints. When im doing this do i need to adjust the torsion bar? What certain things will i have to take off to do this? What do i need to adjust and do a certain way.

I'll be the first to say it. SAS! You're already tearing every thing up. If you don't go that route when replacing all the front end components obviously you'll need an allignment. Your truck is going to sit a little differently after all the suspension work so when you're done measure to see if you'll need the torsions adjusted. P.S. why you doing all of this? I'll bet there's a good story behind it all. It's either that or some hack mechanic tried to tell you that your front end is out of whack and the whole thing needs to be replaced. He will then shortly after telling you this offer to buy your truck to just get it off your hands. Just kidding happened to me a few years back when i was a bit of a novice. Pickle forks and a puller is your friend.

Ooooh! hope it didn't happen when you were driving. I feel your pain living in the rust belt sucks. Rust tends to eat our trucks like a fat kid at a buffet!

you might want to loosen the torsion bars just so it makes things easier .

wait but then again the adjusters may break.

Count the turns as you release the t-bars, then tighten them up the same. You might also want to take rim-to-fender measurements too.

Lift the truck off the ground, and begin dismantling.
You won't have to do anything with the torsion bars.

True.

I re-read the OP and if you're not affecting the upper control arm, jacking the truck off the ground will put the UCA on the bump stop and you won't have to do anything to the t-bars.

if you do feel the need to loosen the Tbars not just count the turns but mark where they are so you can get them back in the correct place.
