Daddy got a new toy

So I just made a deal to trade my bike for a 86 excab 22re 5 spd and cant wait to get off this rig and go get it. Its camo paint and the engine is completely apart so I can do as I see fit with it. So my question is going to be what are the downs and ups with IFS compared to solid axles. All my 4x4's have been solid. As soon as I can I'll post some pics of it when I go get it Feb 6.

And the best part is the wife agreed to it, does she know what she done yet?

congrats on the new rig!

don't forget that there's a search button up there; IFS vs SA is one of the most debated subjects with these trucks, so there's TONS of info out there about the pros and cons of each all ready for you to read over

IFS rides better on the road for sure..(stock that is...unless the SA rig has a set of soft springs lol)

and as far as i know..that's where it stops..SA is stronger for sure (built at least..stock they are about the same) SA is also more flexy and more capable (once again built...stock they are about the same) offroad lol

So first thing I'm going to do is swap tranny and axle into my old one to get it back on the road. Then call marlin and get the tranny kit and the rear axle kit and get it over to paint. I had started another thread 4 days ago about if getting this truck and getting my wife behid thewheel was a good deal, got 3 replys and it disappeared. So its getting painted a purple that screams with hot pink stripes and 4x4 down the side, and across the tailgate its going to say toyota, but at the top left it will say HER, give it to her for her birthday and go riding. BUT, that is the plan, and my plans dont always come out accordingly. So wish me luck
