Antifreeze leak under intake

Antifreeze leak under intake
I have an '89 pickup with the 22re. It's dripping anitfreeze from a junction on the passenger side of the block, just below the valve cover just past center towards the firewall. A pipe goes from that junction back towards the firewall. There are two 10mm bolts attaching this pipe at the junction. I tightened both bolts but it's still dripping. Is there a gasket there that I can replace?

i know on my 3rd gen 4runner there is a IAC valve with a coolant line going through it. I believe it's there to keep the intake warm and to prevent icing from colder climates. I would suggest to take it out and maybe put some type of make a gasket material and retighten?

The coolant is what operates the IAC, (AAV) which is the cold idle-up valve. Remove the coolant line and the idle won't drop when the motor reaches operating temp. Better to check the valve and if leaking, replace it. There may be a seal that can be replaced, short of the whole valve.

had the same problem doing the Hg on mine. make sure you clean the pipe real good and there's an o-ring that fits in a small recess. I think i used right stuff on mine not the gasket. On my friends the p.o. used j.b. weld on the hole dam thing!

I tried making my own gasket. Took 2 tries, but I made one that didn't leak. I also had to remove that part later, and used RTV. I would recommend RTV, as that seemed to work the best. Only reason I recommend RTV is because it's not a pain in the arse to scrape off and replace if you need to remove that part in the future.

nice. yeah I hate that freaking pipe. its the heater core line if its the one I am thinking of. underside of the intake?
first time I messed with a 22re I was told it was egr. so I blocked it off. yeah I just ran with it and put no sence for what one was saying.

I just spent my weekend replacing the head gasket on my 86 4runner and got EVERYTHING back together, put in the coolant and that pipe leaked like a sive...Now I have to take off the EFI to get to it. I looked for a gasket in the engnbldr kit but I didnt see what I thought was the correct gasket and figured there was not one so I installed it without a gasket....WRONG! I am guess one of the small o-rings is for that thing? Frustrated...
