Ive got a few year old Troy Bilt 3.5HP power washer, Im wondering if I can hook it up to the hot water hose hook up in my basement and use it this weekend to power wash my Trekker with a little steam effect! I just dont want to F up my power washers pump. Any ideas? Im going to email Troy Bilt / MTD to make sure but I thought Id run it by the experts too!

I don't see why you could'nt I've run warm water through press. washers before with no problems... I would'nt run straight hot through though after a while it will get VERY hot and might soften/melt some of the plastic parts in the system to say nothing of scalding you with the back spray/mist.
I would say run the water as warm as you can stand to wash your hands with and you'll be fine.

Some of the seals in some pumps don`t care for hot water . If you sill have the owners manual it should tell you in there .
Good luck with trying to ask the company as they more than likely just assemble the parts.
If you can find the pump manufacture with a serial # perhaps chase down the information that way
