1992 Truck Won't Start

It was driving fine a day ago with a slight idle problem, I parked it for a day and now it won't start. IT won't even turn over lights radio all works, lights don't dim when I turn the key and there is one faint click when I turn the key. Do you think it's something to do with the relay?

I don't think the idle has anything to do with it, but if I start the engine with the lights on and they dim it would mean that it's the starter (Which it doesn't) so I'm thinking it's not even getting to the starter so something is messed up between the two... But I'm no expert haha

well if you hear a clink than the relay should be good. so thats why im thinking its the starter, but i could be wrong. you could tap on the starter while some one is trying to turn it over in the cab ans see if it turns over. make shear the parking brake is on and the truck is in neutral. if it does than your starter is either bad or seized up

have you checked to see if the starter is getting power, thro the big wire that runs to it?
then check and see if the seloniod valve is getting power through the plug when you turn ign. to start.

if it is then maybe try putting a wire on th positive bolt on the starter then put the other end in the seloniod valve do this with the truck in nuetral and with ign. in on position if it starts the seloniod valve is not getting power.

have you tried that it might not be getting enough power if that doesnt work then either your starter is bad or the batiery is dead

man...i saw this thread title and hoped that i could post that 4crawler link...all the advice i ever have to give is links to his site beat me to it.

if you have a manual you might check your clutch switch, but the clicking sounds like a starter to me. ours (or at least mine) are actually kinda tricky to remove, especially if you don't have fancy joints and stuff. i'd try banging on the thing first, while someone else is trying to start the truck. you could also jump the small black wire terminal on the starter to the positive battery terminal on the starter with anything metal, like a pair of pliers. if the starter kicks in, then your problem is between the ignition and the starter. be really careful if you try either one of these though... parking brake, out of gear, don't electrocute yourself, stuff like that
