Hello, long time lurker first time poster. I have a 1994 toyota pickup 22re single cab 5 speed, im trying to make a good daily driver. i recently put in a new clutch, pressure plate, pilot bearing, and throwout bearing. Now i have a ticking noise when the clutch is let out. i have looked through the release fork boot and can see the throwout bearing moving and making the clicking noise. I need a picture of the clip that holds the throwout bearing to the clutch release fork...someone please help me out....thanks for your time, i have learned a lot here.

 

I dont have a 22r but in my 3.0 I just changed the clutch and the bearing actually seated into the fork. the spring to the back and the bearing had a flange that slipped into the fork slots...but I know the transmissions are diff...so I dont know if that helps out at all

 

yeah i have found pics of your throwout bearing, but its made different, yours just slides into the fork, mine has a clip that holds it agains the fork.....but thanks for the reply, anyone have any pics of this?

 

of all this pics I took during my engine rebuild and clutch and everything, I don't have any that show the spring/clip that holds the bearing to the fork all I have is this...




but it is agrivating knowing exactly what you're talking about and not having a picture to support it

 

superbleeder, thank you, this is very close to what i need, can you remember if the ring on the clip goes away from the fork, or inside the fork?

thanks again bleeder...sorry to be confusing i have this diagram at home, on this diagram the outside of the retaining ring points away from the fork, when i put it back together i installed the ring pointing towards the inside. (the exact opposite of the diagram). how did you install yours? exactly like the diagram or different?

yes, the larger loop portion needs to point away from the fork assembly

When you put the spring on the bearing assembly, and then slide it onto the fork, it should be able to teeter-todder slightly on the fork, and can actually slide right off the fork pretty easily. But once the assembly is slide over the input shaft and the fork locks down to the pivot ball on the trans, the slack should be taken up, and the bearing shouldn't be able move away from the fork


if you think about it, snap a pic and post it before you bolt it all back up, that way we can tell ya if it's on there right; that trans in a pain to geet in and out of there more than once

 

no doubt man, i will get a pic.... gonna start to take it apart tonight.....had to do a little surgery on the frame..(welded in new plates and boxed in rusted out parts). put on new front fenders, and put the bed back on. so i am eager to drive and enjoy it....thanks again.

I guess this is a similar question, and for some reason I can't post anything, only reply. I just did a clutch job and can't get the master slave cylinder to bolt on because the throw out bearing fork that comes outside of the bell housing is in the way... any advice?
