im thinking i have a cracked head...the coolant is building up tons of pressure.. when i cut off the engine you can hear it bubbleing and actually feel it move the truck a little bit... is there anyway of checking it with out pulling the head off first? there isn't any coolant or oil in the wrong place, but the oil does smell gassey.. do you know of anything else that could cause this? i have a new radiator, wp, thermostat, all hoses, heatercore is clean and fine, new radiator cap. this is a fresh motor rebuild with around 5k on it.. it has run fine till this issue. any help is very much appreciated.. its got me in a pickle.. anyone have a spare head they could help me out with? i live in ringgold ga 30736

 

hard to say without looking at it, but did you 'burb' the system and make sure all air pockets are out of the coolant system?

 

does the truck overheat or do you have any loss of power

 

lol well you are welcome to come by and help me figure it out for xmas i have jacked the front end up turned the heater on high till it got hot and the thermo opened let it cool off and top it back off... its doesn't over heat... the heater works.. its hard to tell on the power.. i havn't drove it much b/c of this problem. so it seems a little weaker maybe but not alot. could just be me.. its not steaming out the exhuast
