sr5 fuel gauge not workin

sr5 fuel gauge not workin
ok so i have a 89 pickup and i got the gauges from the junk yard and everything works on it except the fuel gauge. the first one stayed on F and i replaced it with a diffrent one and now its on E. im soo lost on whats going on. o and i went to the fuel sending unit and it has 2 wires instead of 3
