what spare trail parts for 3.4
Hey there... I was wondering what you guys are carring for trail parts for your 3.4's.. I hate to say it but im new to the 3.4's but love mine. its in a 90 4runner with a r151 ect...
its a 99. I was going to start with a ecm
Also I have the early type trd supercharger I would llike to install and was reading mr gadets site. If I buy his timing controller will that really be all I need to keep the engine happy or do I have to buy the super injector kit ect.... would like to get the 270 horse but very reliably... if installing the supercharger is going to kill the engine then ill leave it off until I can get the correct parts for it to run well

^^^right on. 3.4's are super reliable. the only thing extra I carry is an air filter, so if im in a convoy with my friends out on some dusty road I can throw in the crappy old air filter, and as soon as I'm done i put my clean one in

I have always been one to think anything can fail.. just wondering if there was a electrical or ignition part that when exposed to lots of snow wheeling or crawling fails... I know that a 3.4 in a street ride is awsome but mine doesnt live in that world very much. when I head up for a night of powder driving and pack the engine bay with snow I want to make sure I drive home and am not stuck over a small part thats an easy fix.
Anyone on the super chrger question?

What altitude are you normally running at? If you usually run at higher altitudes, then I would say to wait until you can afford the better injector kit. The pinging and false detonation is what you want to try to avoid which higher altitude will amplify.
I would carry an Alternator, belts, and hoses. Starter usually isn't an issue since you shouldn't be wheeling alone, and someone can always pull start you.

have you ever tried to pull start someone on top of and surrounded by 3 foot plus boulders

I had my starter fail the last trip out to the hammers, not fun.
