Need Help with '85 4Runner problems -- Semi NewB

Ok, Truck Description:

'85 4Runner, with about 5,000 miles on the rebuilt motor, 2 inch OME Springs, 33" Cooper STTs, Web Fab Wheel Spacers, Replaced radiator and thermostat to 2 valve Toyo one and all hoses, 120 amp alternator and blue dash LEDs, with a 8,000lb mile marker winch on an Addicted Off Road Bumper.

}Problems:

Truck can idle all day with no temp fluctuation, start going down the road and the gauge spike and then returns to normal, and never does it again until it cools and and you do the same thing again>???

Put the new 120 amp alternator on, and now the gauge flicks with everything, does the wire going to the slow blow fuse need to be upgraded?

Windshield leaks, do not want to go back to chrome trim, are there any part numbers out there for a one piece seal to go around the windshield? or any ideas?

After upgrading the springs, there is alot of slack in the steering, any ideas?

While going down the road, i know I have a lack of power, have not had the money to get my gears up to 4:88s with an aussie in the rear, but it seems like the motor bogs itself when pushing down on the gas hard?

I am also looking for adjustable brackets or something for my KC Daylighters, instead of welding tabs on for the lights, I would like to have brackets so they acn be moved around and such.

ANNY MODIFICATIONS FOR A GUY with no welder YET, and limited room and resources would be greatly appreciated. I am fixin to order my upgrade harnes and lights for the headlights with the IPF Fatboy super low beam bulbs also.

Thanks ahead of time!!

You need to burp the coolant system, it has air in it.

No idea.

Windshield leaks cause it wasn't sealed right, chrome trim is just that trim.

It's 24 years old, probably needs some new parts in the steering.

With big tires over stock, you will need to regear to regain power...or your 24 year old 22RE is tired.

Those gauges are flaky.

Oil pressure sending unit right by the oil filter.

Windshield could just leak or you could have a leak and a rusted out A-pillar, pretty typical on ones that old. I had to fix one of my 85s that leaked with some rust repair that you couldn't see until you removed the windshield.

hey thanks 4crawler, alot of your pages are already in my bookmarks on my laptop. Great info even for someone that is very mechanically declined. I grew up with my dad always making us work and fix our own stuff if possible so most is not that bad, just lacking a decent location to work on it.
