Gauges and blower motor fuse keeps popping
OK, i have a first gen 4x4 (1980) and its giving me hell. along with much bigger problems (rear main seal and transmission problems) i have this really annoying issue that i just cant seem to shake.
I have removed all of the after market wiring that came on the truck when i got it a year ago. and the damn fuse keeps popping.
it happens at random times. either when i start the truck, or sometimes at idle, but most of the time its randomly when im driving. my blower motor just stops and all my gauges die. it calls for a 10 amp fuse but ive put up to a 25 amp fuse in there and the same thing happens.
so my first thought was alternator pumping too much juice through it.
wrong because the damn thing would be popping all the fuses.
then i thought, a short somewhere, hence why i tore out all the weird wiring.
now im at a loss. help me!!!

Well I can think you might have a wire rubbed that depending how the vehicle bounces shorts to ground . I would check in the area behind the e-brake handle along with behind the radio if that wiring has been hacked If you have not all ready done so
Does this happen only with the blower motor running ?? If it only does it with it running It could be a bad motor that stops turning when it feels like drawing way to much current
Good luck
