Does the RR locker imply a gear ratio?

I've been doing a lot of searching and can't find anything concrete.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember reading somewhere that the elocker factory option implied that the gearing ratio would therefore be lower. Is this true? If so... what is it?

I recently rolled my last 4runner that didn't have this option and am looking at buying a new one (2000 limited AT) with the locker option and want to upgrade from my old 31's to 33's, and adjust the gearing close to the recommended (31" - 33" tires) 4.88 ratio. I'll probably stick with getting the BFG AT's - I do a lot of driving in the snow and these have been great.

2000 was the last year to offer the factory rear locker - 2001 was when the rear locker along with 5spd died, and were replaced with the center diff lock option and traction control.

Found what I had read before:
http://www.top4runners.com/runhist/3...00_4runner.pdf
2nd page, mid section, right side mentions the locker having a 4.3 gear ratio.

Can anyone else confirm that a rear locker option always automatically implies a 4.3 ratio?

The 4Runner with factory locker was available with 4.10 and 4.30 ratios. That is based on the research I have done from here and a few other sites.

If it came with stock 16" alloys and locker you'll have 4.30's.

My 2000 SR5 V6 With auto and the locker has 4.30's

I almost wish I had 4.10's though since I'm mostly highway with this one, not near as much city or off road as I did with the 95 It had 4.56's from the factor

Unless it's equipped with 4.10's like my '97, V6, 5speed, 16" alloy wheels, W/rear diff lock.
