i have a set of 10's,but the more i look at the 8's i like them what u guys think?probly without the centers. my bad a 33-12.50

 

They look nice, wich one depends on how wide your tire is.

either will work...but i've heard of people blowing beads on a 12.50 tire with a 10" wide rim...idk if they were aired down or not though...personally i think the 8" wide rims would look better...

but your tires wont be pushed out as far..lol..i like my tires to stick out past my fenders a couple of inches LOL

 

i know it would work i had 33-12.50's before i was just thinking of going with the 8's cause the tire looks ballooned out on the 10's

 

if i was going to run a 12.5 i'd run a 7 or 8 inch wide rim.

 

i also dont like the look of the 12.50 tire on a 10" rim...some people think you HAVE to have a 10" wide rim to run 10.50's or 12.50's..lol..its sad

if i ever run a 10" wide rim..then its gonna have to be a tire wider than a 13.50..lol

my next set of rims are gonna either be a 17x9 or 18x9.5's......yes i like bigg(er) rims...would even run a set of 20's on my 4runner if i found a set for cheap..lol

 

You can not run a 33x12.50R15 on a 7 inch wide wheel. Well you can but it wont seal correctly. 15x8 is the smallest you can go with the tire seated on the drop center of the wheel.

 

Seal correctly.... i think you'd get a good seal, but if you run a good amount of psi in it you'll wear on the middle of the tires so you'd just need to let some air out to get good contact pattern. I'm thinking 315/75/16's on 16x7's, poor man's beadlocks. Then later adding beadlock rings to the rims so they are 16x8 with a 37x12.50

 

they recommend a 10" wide wheel. and 8" would be ok, but i wouldnt go with a 7". (not that they wont work) its becouse like crolison said, you have to run low pressure to get them to wear evenly.

 

im runnin 33 12.50 15 tsls on 8 in wide rim sticks out like 3 in or more around the truck perfect look imo

 

At Discount tire if you come in with a 285/XX/RXX or a anything 12.50" or wider on a 7 inch wide wheel we will turn you away and tell you to go to BIG O TIRE or try to sell you wheels, cause it simply is not safe...

 

man, I love the look of a narrow rim with a big tire. a ten wide looks like a "vato" wheel in IMO. I have put 285's on a 7 wide. only issue was hitting my UCA

 

a 1/4'' wheel spacer will fix that

 

lots of guys on here run 12.50's on stock SR5 alloys (check out lumpy's 4runner)

no problem with it..just gotta run the right pressure like Crolison said

i've seen guys run 13.50's on 8" rims..same thing there..or what about a 15.50 on a 10" rim..

of course alot of tire store tell guys that they can't run a 12.50 on an 8" rim just to get them to buy new rims....they did it to my friend..

he had already bought the 15x8's and the tire store talked him into buying a set of 15x10's and he had to sell the 15x8's...its stupid really..

the tire guy should do what i tell him...if i tell him to mount my 12.50 tire on my stock 7" rim..he needs to do it (of course verifying that the shop is in no way responsible for anything that happens..LOL)..but thats just me

 

hey man, I have a question. when I did do that my 1/4 in. spacers said on the box.. "not for off-road use" so I couldn't find out anywhere at the time if it was safe. so not too long after i bought some 8 wides. heck thats my runner has 8s on it now.

 

I have 12.50's on a set of 10's.............looks fine and never blew a bead..........lol well the time I hit a square rock at high speed I bent one of the 10's to the point I needed to bend it back big time, just to get to the lugs........oh that was fun......but I never broke the bead despite the 6+ inch gash in the sidewall

 

im not sure why it said not for off road ive never heard a reason not to

 

yea i have 285-75x16's on my stock 16x7's and i work at a tire & wheel shop,i know all about the right pressure,thanks for all ur imput think iam going to sell the 10's and get me some new 8's. thanks
