Fuel door will not stay unlocked

Yota's!

Hey everyone, does anyone know how to adjust the fuel door release on a 95 4runner? When I pull the fuel door release I can hear it unlock but by the time I make it around the car it's locked itself. My temporary solution is to wedge something in between the fuel release latch so it stays unlocked.

I hope someones felt my pain.

It might be that the fuel door has lost it's spring.

It's not stiff at all. When I have the latch held open all I have to do is tap the edge of the door and it swings open freely v

I think your spring has become unsprung.

Is the spring in the fuel door? Anyone have a picture of what a working door should look like?
