tire rotation
time to rotate the tires. The spare is not being rotated onto the truck, whats the recommended way one goes about this- RF with LR, LF with RR or RF with RR and LF with LR?

My 99 owner's manual states the following tire rotation:
1. spare to left front
2. left front to right rear
3. right rear to right front
4. right front to left rear
5. left rear to spare tire location
Left = driver's side
right = passenger side
Rotate approx. every 7500 miles.
Hope this helps.

Back when radials were the new thing, wisdom said they had to always rotate in the same direction - so tire "rotation" was really just swapping front/rear on the same side.
But I've seen lots of diagrams lately that show the old rotation pattern (george16's post) and I don't think bias ply tires are too common any more.
So is it ok to change the rotational direction of a radial tire? Any tire experts out there?

As I've said before, go with the tire manufacturer's recommendation. Then if there are any problems down the road, the manufacturer can't blame it on improper tire care.

My '03 owners manual recommends keeping the rotation direction the same. ie' Left side front to rear/rear to front, and the same for the right side. If you intend to include the spare in the mix, then add it to right side rotation. Though if you are of the left handed persuasion, go with the left side spare mix.
