The HUGE gap between the face and the body?? Or, are those washers sticking out?

Rotors are screwed up
Floor jack in the gravel?
Bad taste in paint color
ACE hardware bolts
The housing is dented from somebody shooting cone washers across the shop

Those are aesthetics. This is a failure if you took this hub offroad...and a quick failure.

Is the problem in the hub or rotor?

This is a stock 84 ext cab front axle. Rotors are probably warped a little but getting replaced.

The glaring issue that is wrong would cause an almost instant failure the first time you took this axle offroad and you would be hitching a ride home. I am fortunate to have found it when I did.

Look close.

The hub doesn't match the rotor, everything sticks out too far.

edit: er.. the lock doesn't match the hub/rotor.

Very good eye and a proper assumption if you know how hubs go on.

If you look closely at the picture guys you will see that on each hub stud you have a flat washer, a lock washer and a nut. I tried to put on a new set of alloys to test fit them and they would not slide on the wheel hub because of the washers. So I was removing them and lo and behold there were no cone washers on this manual hub holding it on. The PO had put on flat washers over the holes, the lock washer and the nut. If I had taken this truck offroad and tried to lock in the hubs and put them under stress I am pretty sure I would have busted something for sure and been pretty pissed.

As it is I was lucky and found this sooner rather than later. I was planning on rebuilding the whole front axle and upgrading the brakes anyway, just now I am going to do it sooner as there is no telling what other corners were cut and what else has been left off.

Lesson learned. Inspect your truck well before trusting anything the PO tells you.

looked to me like it has IFS hubs on a SFA lol

i thought the SFA hubs were like..taller (if you got em sittin on a kitchen table) than IFS hubs??

but yes the washer thing would cause a problem..but it wouldnt cause it to fail would it?? as long as everything is nice and tight?
