Question Leaking Oil

So i have an 88 toyota pickup. So i dont have any visible oil leaks, i have looked everything over and i dont see anything that is leaking.(and yes i know what im doing and looking for) but i am needing to add half a quart every week to two weeks. so i was wondering if the first place to look would be the head gasket? Any ideas/help on this one??

First place I would look is burning oil. Worn out piston rings. Not good on a rebuilt engine with only 9k...maybe the rings never seated properly? A headgasket would be pretty crazy on such a new engine, too..

worn valves or rings, pretty easy to determine with a compression test.

Do a test on the cylinders just the way they are, then pour oil into a cylinder and test again, if your number goes up after adding oil, its bad rings, if it remains constant after adding oil and the compression is low, your valves are leaking.
