throttle screw stop thinging - 22RE

Hi

I was looking under my throttle screw stop and there is a little stud hooked up to a diaphragm that then goes into a hose and the hose to a filter. What's the purpose of that? I thought may be it was for AC models but I am just curious.

thanks!!

Gabe

Are you talking about the dashpot? I believe the dashpot prevents the throttle from snapping shut. It eases it down to a closed position.

no it's like a stud where the allen key rests on. It is connected to a hose that goes to some sort of filter

Still sounds like the Dashpot. Open throttle by hand, release... watch the last couple milimeters close slowly. Its the only allen key anwhere near my throttle body. (and I've got AC)

a pic would help.

I've got a throttle stop screw, but that's just there for when the dashpot is done doing its job.
