Talking lift 1" or not

My '99 Limited is sagging due to 150kmiles, huge stereo, waag, etc..

I have the Addco sway bar kit (amazing flat cornering!), and Bilsteins done 50kmiles ago. (I've also just ordered energysuspensions greaseable bushings kit btw).

I want to keep on road agility, as I rarely do off-road, other than in the snow. I have large 275/70/16's LTX's on stock wheels.

My questions are:
1) I want to raise the car slightly (really) for looks, about 1 inch over stock.
Will this affect my handling either way significantly?

2) I read somewhere that OE springs for '99 were the tallest available from Toyota. Should I still consider these? Will new stock springs handle the speaker load in my trunk without sagging immediately? I still do want to raise the truck enough just to see a difference visually.

3) As I change the springs I am going to get some new Bilsteins or is there something else I should try. Again for on road ability (not off-road).

4) How should I raise it. Springs, spacer? Any brand suggestions?

Thanks for your patience guys

I have a 1" BL. I got it for these reasons:

1. Looks
2. Minor rubbing up front (caused by the tires)
3. Accessibility (yes, it significantly improves your ability to reach some parts)
4. Increased approach and departure angles
5. Didn't want to change my suspension geometry

Not sure if Roger Brown is still selling kits, but that's where I got mine. Good luck!

Actually, I think that particular vehicle was apparently missing the top washers on the cab mount bolts. Sure it was related to the body lift, but a matter of improper installation and not the body lift itself. You need to move those factory washers from the stock bolts to the longer body lift bolts:

Those washers are very thick and hardened in order to span the rather large hole in the floor sheet metal when the bolts pass.

im not gonna sit and argue with you about body lifts any longer, im just trying to keep others from doing what i think is a mistake. I installed one on my truck, and i really really wish i hadnt. For any moderate amount of off roading they hender more than help.... and i realise you are saying its a street vehicle, but things can change like they did in my case..

Well it wasnt an arguement. They were just trying to fill you in on why body lifts are great.

But since your stupid ass won't listen, how bout you do some time and research body lifts. . before you go before spreading misinformation.

Heck, read the thread you posted... Most of the guys agree that the body lift was not at fault. It was improper instalation and driver error. There are a few guys on there who have rolled a body lifted truck, and the cab stayed put...

I'd recomend a body lift anyday of the week, provided they use grade 8 bolts for the mounts (some kits come with grade 3) and a good kit with all of the other proper hardware. No booty fabbin here.

I guess you've never heard of a flatbelly? One of the best ways to accomidate a drivetrain lift is with a body lift...
Just one of the many many pros of body lifts...

"why body lifts are great"?? hahahaha. WOW!

One of the Best ways to flat belly?? I guess you are right with that one. It looks like its the 2nd best way to lift the drive train....seeing how there are only 2 ways to acheve this??? AKA not at all the best way!

You have thousands and thousands of posts on yotatech?? seriously, quit your web wheelin and go wrench on your junk. build somethin. (and your "diff breather mod" doesn’t count) or at least go ride!
