clicky

CB is pretty simple.. not really anything special for them, what do you need to know.
Try searching theres a whole section devoted to GPS and communication

This would be a good start.
I would suggest searching with the "Advanced Search" option and search in the Communication's section for anything CB related.

It might be a good idea to post up what you are wanting the CB for and what your budget is, etc...

I have the 34.95 walmart cobra. Its basic, small, and seems to get the job done on trail rides.

ask and ye shall receive (that is, receive the usual invitation to search, duh! and the odd wikipedia linky hahahaha)

it's probably my fault for not being as explicit as i needed to, so here it goes:

my budget is very limited (probably limited to what i can find on craigslist or very cheap new) but fortunately so are my intended uses. i want the cb mainly to listen to truckers on my way to work (i've got a two hour round trip twice a week) and, eventually, to ask them for permission to tailgate. so far i've seen the walmart cobra mentioned by seanmearse and a few handheld models but i'm not really sure if i need to go with the wired in/antenna set up or if i could get away with a handheld for my purposes.

i asked about other forums because i'm sure there's a lingo that goes with CBs and, again, being a total newb, i know none of it. the only thing i know about CBs comes from watching the dukes of hazzard and smokey and the bandit so that's probably not enough

i will nonetheless search within the yotatech communication thread, thanks for pointing that out

Get the cheapest radio you can find and the best antenna you can afford. A cheap basic radio with a good antenna will work a lot better than a fancy radio with a cheap antenna.

And I don't know about your part of the world but up here more and more truckers are switching to VHF, the CB band is almost dead most days.

cb band is still pretty used around the states. The type of radio you need depends on distance you want to talk
