can i use a 22re air box with a 22rte motor???

i bought a 22rte turbo and ended up selling it to my cousin, now he's putting it in his truck and found out he needs the 22rte turbo air box because of the plug/sensor. is there a way to use the 22re airbox?

if not, does anyone have a 22rte turbo airbox??

thanks!

Yes you can, however it will need adjusted and that takes a little time. Start by removing the cover on the box just cut the silicone out and pry it off. Be careful asyou will need to put it back on. Inside you will find a spring with a metal clip on it held down with two screws. This spring holds the tension on the door in the meter. The turbo engine pulls more vacuum so it needs more tension on the spring. This isnt "perfect" by any means. Adjust more tension into the spring by winding it tighter. If its not tight enough you will get a check engine light for o2 sensor being to rich after you run it for awhile. To tight it will show lean. adjust till you find the happy medium and get a good color on your plugs(too lean and it will run hot and melt stuff) rich is a little better. I have donr this twice just dont let go off the spring and lose the facory setting.
