Convert 97 runner, to 99 fat lip bumper

Long story short, my friend hit someone in his 97, with the non-fat lip bumper, and I have a 99, with the fat lip, and want an ARB bar.
So I figure, sell him my fat lip, spray it the color of his trim, install, I'll gain some bucks, buy me an ARB, he'll save some bucks, and have his truck fixed. Sounds flawless right?

But, Could I put the fat lip on his truck? when I searched all i found was someone making a 99 non- fat lip.

Anyone have any idea? Should it bolt up with all the mounting hardware i have? As far as I see it it should... But of course I have no idea what i'm talking about

If I recall correctly, the 97 just has one bolt in the frame tip and the 99 has a flange with three bolts welded to the end of the frame. Have a look under both to verify. You should be able to make a flange to adapt your brackets if that is the case. Best of luck.

its pretty easy. you need the mounting brackets since they stick out farther. i think i had to drill 1 hole on each side ( on the mounting bracket)

2000 bumpers on a 96.. just need the hoodscoop!

K so it basically bolts up minus one hole? That sounds good.

Thanks yotatech, looks like this can happen... Now if only that guy with the TJMs would give us a price..
