Got into a fender bender today

Well I was on my way to school and we have a redlight that is always majorly backed up and there is always a accident there almost weekly. So,I was just sitting at the red light and it turns green I give the car in front of me around 2-3 seconds to pull forward before I go, well she guns it.I take off normally and the next thing I know she slams on the brakes to advoid hitting the car in front of her and I run all over the back of her car.I hit the brakes but these big tires just don't stop like a normal vehicle. The girl goes to school with me and has a brandnew 2010 fusion she has had her liscence less than a week to :/.Everyone was ok and she was kinda making jokes about it and what not.My truck isnt messed up except the valence however her little car lets just say my tow hook won the war haha.Cops came it winds up being my fault and I kinda figured it would be but it just sucks

Here is pictures of the valence it got pretty mangled.

Also,My powersteering pump now has a pretty bad leak around the shaft.Any way I can fix this?

Should I take the valence off to make it look better?

That sucks that it was claimed your fault but thats how 90% of rearends are. Id say you should do something to the fusion but its prolly her parents car lol.

As for the valence, take it off lol. It will look like you got a lift.

Just take it off. It's way better without it.

Hey, still looks better than my rig

You probably need to replace the O seal around the shaft there on the box. Might not be a bad idea to remove it and rebuild it

Well, I dropped the valence today.Im not so sure I like how it looks so im gonna pick up a new one here soon.I got down and dirty today and fixed a few things while I was at it.I did notice that the hit busted the welded brackets off the radiator and also had a huge radiator leak. The leak was coming out of the big main hose coming from the top of the radiator and wraps around the fan.I drained the radiator and changed the fluid just to help it out.I took the hose off and cut it back some to where it wasn't cracked and that seems to have fixed the leak.A few weeks ago I notice my 4x4 linkage came unbolted and wouldn't shift into 4x4 So I fixed that this after noon as well.Heres a picture of it without a valance and yes I do have a 3 inch body lift.

Sucks you got charged but that's how it is in about 85% of rearenders... you can get out of it if you were the middle car in a chain reaction crash or if you were cut off (sometimes) or if the road was contaminated (oil/fuel spill or other).
You really have to watch what the car in front of the car in front of you is doing as well.
I agree put a valence back on... these third gens don't look good without it... makes the truck look like it has buck teeth...
