Meant to start this when I first got the truck but its only a few weeks old. Payed $3000 for it with new clutch/brakes and a rebuilt motor/new head, 200,000 miles on body. Anyways heres how it started out...

cutoff the running boards and the spare out with a sawzall.


unbolted the valence..


i replaced the dim overhead light with an LED kit, i had to trim the fuse style tubing to fit but it works great, ill upload some night shots soon

ground down the bolts with a grinder to get the mechanism down, after we had gutted it

 

drilled a hole for the threaded rod to replace the spare tire mechanism


put a lock nut with a 2" washer on top then a chunk of a pressure treated 2x4 with an aluminum bar.




cleaned up the spare






we utilized the two nuts as a lock washer to tighten the lock washer above the steel.


and a cable for overkill

 

I decided to make a V4 emblem for my truck, I started with the cheap plastic crap and quickly went to aluminum.




finished.

 

New wheels and tires! wheels are the Black Teflon coated ATX chamber's, tires are 31x10.5 R15 BFG All-Terrains.

Painted the windshield wiper arms and got new wipers...








now it has a new life

Make it a real V-4...You might be able to find a 1967 Saab with a V-4 in a Junkyard somewhere like maybe Sweden:

So my horn had Laryngitis, which most of you probably have experienced already. Anyways I had this siren laying around from a buddy of mine. I drilled out the rivets on the factory horns male connection.

I used my knife to carve a small notch on the edge of the recess for the new wire from the siren. Stripped the wire coiled it in the recess, jammed a pop rivet washer in to hold the wire in place and finished it off with a pop rivet.

Now the siren plugs right into the original horns connection. The siren isn't so much cool as it is funny, but it's better than nothing for now ha. I also utilized the bracket from the original horn and secured the siren in the same spot behind the grill. It makes a pretty loud noise somewhat reminiscent of a police siren if you beep it twice. Anyways I'll probably replace the siren with a better horn but I thought this was a pretty cool/simple mod.

Looks great so far. that rust looks pretty nasty, hopefully you can get most of that replaced or fixed
