4.55 and 31's?
I have a chance to pick up a set of 4.55's complete thirds for $175. Im running 31" tires right now and 4.10's. Its a dog in the hills and just seems like it has a harder time getting off the line. I did a search and I got some pretty good info on this swap, but the guys never posted their results after doing the swap. Is it worth it?

So Im thinking Im confused now after doing some reasearch. You just cant take the carrier out of the v6 IFS and and put it into the straight axle, because the v6 ifs is 7.5 and the straight axle is 8". So I should get the complete rear axle and then pull the ring and pinion out of the ifs and put it into the front 8" carrier out of the straight axle?

Im bringing this thread back from the dead to give results. I finally got the gears and installed them tonight and they are very nice with 31 in tires. No more hesitation off the line and the 4low is way better.
