first gen won't start HELP

I have an 88 runner and it won't start. It has sat for the last year but was running when I parked it. When spraying starter fluid in the air intake it will sound like it is running. It has gas but it's like it's not getting fuel to the engine. someone told me it's the fuel pump in the tank. Anyone have a write up on this? Help...

The best write-up you can get is one out of a Chiltons or Haynes manual. They have step by step instructions for replacing anything. That's what I'd recommend you getting.
