Well this truck was purchased with the intent to give me a few things, 1-get good gas mileage and 2-be 4wd. My 93 pickup 2wd was a good truck and served me extremly well but the fact that it wasn't 4wd really got to me. So I went and bought this 94 pickup 4wd. I'm building this thing to be a good daily driver and be able to hit my favorite trails without a problem. It's completly stock, which I liked in a way because I can start fresh with something and build it the way I want it. So far i've removed the cap and graphics, replaced the battery, fresh tuneup and replaced the 02 sensor mounts and the sensor itself. It passed emissions check yesterday so i treated it to a wash and wax and also installed a pioneer head unit.

In the next few weeks I will be buying cragar 397's to put on 31x10.5 BFG AT's I already have. I will also be building a marlin style tube bumper for the back. Much more to come.

I'm happy how they look now that their on the truck. I bought the wheels from summit racing, $178 after tax not including the center caps. Those were $15 a piece, i didn't want to buy them after hearing the price, but they look good nonetheless. Next up, 2 1/2" exhaust from the cat back.

 

Got the exhaust done, I ended up starting over and making a flange for the cat and working my way back. I used a summit muffler and 2 1/2 piping. I'm happy with the outcome, its not very loud(which i wanted) and it woke the 22re up a bit. Also bought some ammo boxes off ebay and put them in. For $60 shipped to my door, i couldnt beat it. Their out of the way and can hold all my stuff that usually is piled up behind the seat. Now i just need to test out my new MIG welder and build a rear bumper.

 

Hell yea man, looks good! Now you just need a new tailgate! And what about the single super swamper spare. Those would look killer on that black truck. Keep it coming!

 

A new tailgate is in the works, and theirs more super swampers where the spare came from, their just on a stock rims for wheelin. They used to be on my old DD but i got sick of hearing them all the time and killing my gas mileage. Don't get me wrong though, when you want to be heard, their sweet and are great offroad.

 

Well i got the underneath scuffed and painted, talk about a messy and time consuming job. I'm glad i put the time into it though because it turned out really well. I used rustoleum black in the rattle cans. I also grooved the super swampers and put them on for the winter. They seem much worse on the road than i remember, but they serve their purpose.

 

Well its been awhile since i posted any updates. The timing chain started to make some noise so i gathered up some parts and a few good friends and tore it down. I ended up replacing the water pump, belts, idler pulley, cap and rotor. When i got it back together the gasket didnt seat properly on the bottom of the passenger side which resulted in an oil leak. So i tore it back down today and will regasket the timing cover and carefully put it back together. On with the pics.

 

Well i was at a buddies house the other day and his old man backed into my truck when he was leaving. I guess it's a good thing i do bodywork, its almost prepped for paint. I'm going to paint the wheel wells while it's apart too.

Keep it coming! I have a dent almost exactly like that on my 90 pickup that im working on right now. It looks like yours popped out really good.

 

It wasnt too bad, had to take a stud gun to the body line to get it back inline though.

 

Thats good to know! My uncle has been doing body work for 40 years so he will be helping me out and teaching me a bit when I get ready to do mine.
