Save yourself the trouble in the future and put a quality header on there.

When I first got my truck I would always spring leaks in my manifold especially where the 2 pipes would meet right before the catback.

One day I found a downey header on ebay, put it on, and I haven't had any issues since!

without worrying about a header... particularly in California where teh green police pick apart everything....

If there's a hole in the manifold, there's likely either a stud or a bolt through it. There are no holes left untouched. Just don't forget about the PAIR manifold, which I think has 4 bolts and 2 studs.... but I'm pulling from memory.

I'm going to be doing the exhaust manifold gasket on my 88 tomorrow so I'll grab some photos.

22re manifolds are prone to cracking around the back. They are also hard to get a good seal where they meet the head pipe.

Well, didn't get to the manifold today. It is def happening tomorrow though- the wife is making me. Going to heading up to Oregon soon so I have to take care of these little problems.
Be prepared though- those missing studs may actually need bolts, depending on where they are, and / or may be broken studs and need extracted. (That's one of my issues- got one broke at the front of the engine and have to pull the manifold to extract it.)
