I'M BACK!!!!!! Introducing the Crustang

Well I'm finally back to the forum, and owning a 4x4 Yota. It is my first Tacoma though. I must say I love this little truck! 88clevelandrunner rode with me in my car to BFE yesterday to pick this little gem up, and needless to say he drove the car back. Now its not the prettiest little thing, but it does run pretty good, its a yota, and it had a stellar price.

Scratches, dents, busted grill, and dare I say Horse bites give this little monster a lot of potential. It is exactly what I wanted and more. My original plans where pre 95 toyota reg cab, or 4runner with 22re. I have owned many toys and always liked this motor over the 3.0 I had last. Well I found this Taco cheaper than any and all of the older trucks I was looking at.

The specs are 2.7 motor, with 5 speed, 4wd works well as I found out today. I have short term and long term plans for this little beast. For now I will throw on some sliders and two lockers. Then I will grab some tires in the 31-34" mud terrain range. I highly doubt I will lift the ifs. They flat out work, and work well stock. I have some axles I could use, but think I will go toyota axle with twin cases from an older model truck in the future. I have no desire to SAS at the moment, because I am very confident in my driving skills with a locked rig. When I get a little more room (find a house that has a garage) then I will start thinking harder about a sas, but for me it is not necessary. I just want to get back on the trails. Which I am doing saturday at Windrock, and all are invited. I may Bob the bed as well. I have always loved that, plus it would eliminate some dents and give me a reason to paint the truck white to hide scratches.

There is a funny story to this little truck. Apparently the PO had horses. Horses obviously like shiny things, so decided that scraping its teeth on the hood of this truck was a good idea... Now I wish the scratches were not there, but it does make a good conversation piece. I have a few pics, feel free to comment.

P.S. I just came back from the Jeep world! Sold the Jeep Sunday, bout the truck Tuesday!!!

Busted grill... The Hardley Ableson tag has to go....

High Miles? Who cares.... My goal is 1/2 a million miles. lol

I really like the factory CD player

I always liked the Toyota truck park brake that pulled out of the dash over the ones between the seats in the 4runenrs. Your truck has about as many miles as my 01 runner 230K. I'm going for half a million also.
BTW that fake chome whatever it is gas pedal cover needs to go

Of course! Thats why I bought it. I haven't had a good wheeling trip since last december. I was pissed, sold my jeep for cheap, and picked up this little gem. I'm really enjoying it so far. Did the seafoam treatment, and man it works well!

I spent a ton of money on tune up supplies. In fact, I could have bought a locker.... That will be in the next week or so.
