It feels like my brakes are starting to seize up. When I first start it up in the morning the pedal has plenty of play, almost more than I'd like and the truck stops ok. As I continue to drive it the pedal gets harder and harder, the truck will stop on a dime (not necessarily a bad thing) and I smell burning brakes when I come to a stop or drive downhill. Eventually the truck wont roll by itself even in drive (on a flat surface) Is my booster freezing up? It's got a new master cylinder and I bled the ENTIRE system. Anybody got any clues? And by the way what's the length that the little rod should be coming out of the booster?

Did you ever mess with the pushrod adjustment?
The next time I gets to the point where it won't roll, grab a bleeder wrench and crack open the bleeder on each caliper. If it squirts then something is pushing or holding pressure in the brake line(s). Do each side with the vehicle after getting enough drag to stop or slow your truck. Do they both have pressure?

It could also be a bad brake hose but most likely that will only lock one side up.

 

Well I looked at the calipers and there doesn't seem to be anything visually wrong and not to mention I can move the pads a little bit with my fingers indicating that they're not jammed against the disk like I thought they would be. However when I had a suspect bad master on there before this one, I did adjust either the pushrod on the booster or the one on the pedal itself, or maybe both (I was having serious pedal height issues) but I haven't yet been able to find the adjusting procedures or measurements for either one of those. I will look again at those in the morning. Thanks for the tips guys!

 

im thinking the push rod on the mastercyl is out of adjustment, iv had the exact same thing happen before
