Gaargh! toasted another alternator...solution?
Ok so i just went through my 4th alt in 3 years on my 88 truck haha... Once again i was haulin' arse threw a mud hole and a few minutes later the good ol' charge and brake lights came on and i was stuck running off the battery...not fun.
So for those of you running in mud most of the time what have you done to protect your alternator? I already built sort of a splash shield that i attached to the fan shroud but it only goes so far and my body lift only exposes it further lol... Let me know what you've done, pics would be awesome.
Thanks.

I'm having the same issue and a splash gaurd wont work because it gets completely submerged in mud and water... a buddy told me about a thread on Pirate about fabbing up a relocation bracket to run it at valve cover level... that paired with a splash gaurd seems like it would be the way to go (sorry i have no link to offer)
