I'm just wondering if it is a "worthy investment" to put in a new intake system?

if its a 22RE 4banger.. then IMO.. its not worth it, i have a full downey intake kit for my 86.. and well it does great collecting dust on my shelf out in the shop, it came on my runner when i bought it and i also got the stock airbox from the guy.. i put the stocker back in, put a Napa Gold airfilter in it and ... SSHHHIIZZAAAMM it ran a heck of alot better.

ya, im kinda new into this whole deal, i just picked up a old completely stock 89 piece of work for 500$ and i got 2 years to work on it till i can drive so that might explain a lil, anyways its a 4cyl 2.4L and the intake is stock, is it worth an upgrade?

Best mod you could do is a battery/intake swap.

You won't make much power but it will really clear up the engine bay, also won't have the intake resting on the damn rad anymore

Other then that, don't bother.

do exhaust, not much will the intake do for a stocker as its not the limiter.

I'm running stock intake and i'm ported and polished, o/s valves, header, and 2.25" pipe out. I do have a k&n filter but that is more for the ability to wash it frequently otherwise I'd spend a fortune on paper filter. What can I say I like it clean.
